Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how MetaMethod collects, uses and protects personal data in MetaMethod Creator Payout ("MMCP"). The data controller is Metamethod, Lda (NIF 516335219), Portugal.

2. Information From Signing In

MMCP uses Discord sign-in with the identify permission only. We receive your Discord user ID, username and avatar, and check the ID against the list of approved personnel. We never receive your Discord password or email address.

3. Content Program Creator Data

  • Identity: Discord user ID, username and display name, the roles you work in, and an age attestation (with guardian details where required).
  • Payment: your payout method and payment handle. Payment handles are stored encrypted.
  • Work and payouts: the videos and scripts you are credited on, word counts, rates, payout reports, remittance PDFs and payment references.

4. Content Analytics

For videos on official MetaMethod channels we store titles, links, publish dates and analytics such as views, engaged views, likes, comments and, where the channel is connected, estimated revenue. These are read from the platforms' public pages or their official APIs.

5. How We Use Your Information

  • To pay creators: calculating, documenting and recording Content Program payouts (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • To keep financial records: retaining payout records as Portuguese law requires (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • To keep MMCP secure: sign-in checks, the audit log and backups (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

6. Sharing

  • Platforms: when an official channel is connected, MMCP reads its analytics from YouTube, Instagram or TikTok.
  • We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

7. Data Security

  • Only approved Discord accounts can sign in, and every connection uses HTTPS.
  • Payment handles are encrypted in the database (AES-256-GCM).
  • Every change is written to a tamper-evident audit log, and the database is backed up daily.

8. Data Retention

  • Financial records (reports, remittances, payment references and the audit log): kept for 10 years, as Portuguese accounting and tax rules require.
  • Other creator data: kept while you take part in the Content Program, then deleted unless it is part of a financial record.
  • Backups: the newest 14 daily copies.
  • Sign-in sessions: 7 days.

9. Cookies

MMCP sets one strictly necessary session cookie after you sign in and a short-lived cookie (10 minutes) that protects the sign-in step. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

10. Your Rights

  • Access and portability: you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: you may ask us to fix incorrect information.
  • Deletion and restriction: you may ask us to delete or restrict your data, subject to the retention periods above.
  • Objection: you may object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Complaints: you may complain to the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), cnpd.pt.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this policy from time to time. The effective date will always be updated at the top.
